Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage 2019
The 2019 Roy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is more restrained than its predecessor — cooler tones, finer tannins, and a longer finish. A transitional vintage that exposed the estate's true terroir character rather than the sun. Best opened after 2026.
Where 2018 gave richness, 2019 gave finesse. For collectors who believe great wine is defined by what it holds back, not what it gives away, this vintage is the more interesting acquisition. Production was smaller, and quality was uncompromising.
A late-season cool spell in September 2019 extended ripening significantly. Wines from this year are marked by higher natural acidity, lower alcohol, and firmer tannic structure — all hallmarks of exceptional ageing potential.
